Fit hikers from age 10, comfortable on rocky ground. Equipped sections are short and secured; mild vertigo is no obstacle.

    Meet at the Grand-Montoir car park, route briefing

  2. 9 am

    Climb via the Escaliers path, short sections with handrails, easy and fun

  3. 11 am

    Reaching the plateau: discovering the limestone pavement and how karst forms

  4. 12:30 pm

    Picnic on the cliff edge facing Lake Annecy and La Tournette

  5. 2 pm

    Guided exploration to the entrance of a natural ice cave (no underground progression)

  6. 3:30 pm

    Descent past the hut, back at the car park around 5 pm

Grand-Montoir car park, Villaz (20 min from Annecy). Narrow road for the last kilometres, car-sharing recommended.
